About EASi T.R.T
A Story Steeped in Sound
Emmanuel Ashley Simango [E.A.Si] born on the 11th of November, better known professionally as EASi T.R.T is an Award Winning Rapper, Song Writer and Actor from Bulawayo, in Zimbabwe.
Never one to shy from the limelight his musical calling started from pre-school where he sang in the Church choir at Sunday school. EASi T.R.T got his inspiration from Chris Brown and Michael Jackson.
The Rap Bug bit him after listening to Eminem's "Toy Soldiers", his thirst for hip-hop music grew. In 2014 while in high school EASi T.R.T started Rap Battling and Free Styling earning himself the name "Tha Reptile" styled as [ThaRapTyl] for having a beasty flow and attitude.
Fast forward to 2016 EASi joined with P Jameszand started a rap duo called Beats N Barz. Their first track was ‘Ekasi’ which catapulted them to popularity in their hood. Riding on the success of their first track the Duo dropped another track titled Istyla ‘Ngyascava’.
The success of the two tracks ‘Ekasi’ & Istyla ‘Ngyascava’ earned the Duo a much deserved nomination for best new comers and Best Skhanda track at the Entumbane Arts Award.
Fast forward to 2016 EASi joined with P James and started a rap duo called Beats N Barz. Their first track was ‘Ekasi’ which catapulted them to popularity in their hood. Riding on the success of their first track the Duo dropped another track titled Istyla ‘Ngyascava’.
The success of the two tracks ‘Ekasi’ & Istyla ‘Ngyascava’ earned the Duo a much deserved nomination for best new comers and Best Skhanda track at the Entumbane Arts Award. The Duo Successfully took the award for Best New Comers.
On the 15th of February 2018 EASi T.R.T released Rise Up under his solo career which broke new levels for him as it got the attention of established artists like Cal_Vin and Mzoe 7. The song led to the birth of the Rise Up Movement which was aimed at providing a platform for upcoming artists.
With the assistance of P James they managed to host a musical concert which attracted a massive crowd of 300+ people according to the Sunday News paper.
On the 8-12th of July he was featured on the Sunday News paper for his great achievement (written by Nigel Siziba)Furthermore he was also featured on the Zim Rap Cities Magazine on the 2nd of November 2018 and another one on the 6th of January 2019, his first song to be released on radio was Set the record Straight which debuted on Power Fmon the Hip Hop Basement.
On the 23rd of February 2019, EASi T.R.T dropped his first body of work titled "Set The Record Straight". The project which is a compilation of 18 songs carries very strong messages about the everyday teenage life experiences. Topics about Depression, Underestimation, Trust, Heartbreak and Pride are easily relatable to his huge fan base.T.R.T has sold an estimated 300- 400 copies which was a huge milestone for him considering that it was his first body of work.
After this achievement he decided to Award himself with a "Plaque" making him the first artist to ever to do so.Moreover on the 8th to the 12th of July EASi T.R.T was made "Artist Of The Week" followed by an interview at Khulumani Fm. In the interview which was conducted by Miss Tee, he spoke more about the mixtape and how it came about. It was a very interesting segment as calls and messages from his family & fans where flooding in.
The following morning his song "Get Used To It" was included in the top 20 hip-hop chat being his second song from the mixtape to be on that chat. Surprisingly it went straight to number 1 on the 3rd week managing to oust a song that had been number one for weeks & maintained the same position for several weeks. It reached its 20th week on the charts on the 23rd of November which was his target. Not stopping there, on the 31st of August the mixtape premiered on the Hip-hop 263, the Naboth Rizla experience on Zanj Radio in Jamaica hosted by Zim Hip Hop advocate Naboth Rizla. He has been getting multiple plays alongside established artists like Cal_Vin, M.U.S.E, Asaph, J Dumza to name a few.
As the Ultimate Strategist EASi saw an opportunity to release a song with SA based S.A.M.A award winner Nasty C called 'Alabama' by entering a competition held by Tall Racks Records. This daring move catapulted his plays and music downloads. Alabama has received an overwhelming response and has seen it added on to music platforms such "HitzMakers" as far as Ghana.
EASi T.R.T has received multiple air plays from broadcasting powerhouses such as Power Fm, Skyz Metro Fm, Khulumani Fm & Zanj Radio (Jamaica).
Throughout the course of his musical career, EASi T.R.T has won over the hearts of music lovers from all walks of life. Performing at a variety of venues, making dozens of appearances and continuing to record new singles, EASi T.R.T has been earning the admiration and affection of fans since 2016. He serves as both an inspiration and a role model.
Behind the Music
EASi T.R.T is strongly influenced by the community, culture and sounds of hip hop music. Even as a youngster, he was drawn to music and musicians. He truly understands the power of sound and try to perform music that speaks to fans across the musical spectrum. His signature style is instantly recognizable and is becoming a sound that others are beginning to emulate. With his name becoming increasingly heard on a national stage, his career is at an important crossroads that could see him burst onto the international charts.
